Maybe we've been working too much at our other jobs to notice, but something wonderful happened on Staten Island over the last couple weeks. There are blossoms everywhere, to be followed shortly by the delicate, iridescent beginnings of this summer's greenery and next fall's foliage. We got around town a fair amount this weekend running errands, and it seems like cherry blossom time is here. Even back at our house, the garden we were sure we'd killed sometime around September with our neglect (the website's not all I have trouble keeping up with) somehow came back to life. It sounds naive, but it was genuinely a surprise. A very good one.
