Forgotten NY at Clear Comfort

Our favorite New York blogger, Kevin Walsh of Forgotten NY, recently put up a great article with photos of the Alice Austen House, Austen Powers: Clear Comfort, Staten Island" about his time in the Prodigal Borough doing research for his forthcoming book.
Interestingly enough, a good friend of mine, Andrew Hall, recently told me that he actually lived at Clear Comfort in the 70s, and remembered it as a wonderful, rambling, very run-down old house right on the water. Sounds right to us, except for the run-down part. Andrew is a bass player I've played with over the years, and we recently finished a month-long series of gigs with the Howard Fishman Quartet at Mo Pitkin's. Although that's over for the forseeable future, I highly recommend hearing Andrew's own band, The Moonlighters.
